Michael Connors understands the importance of developing a comprehensive strategic communications plan, the role it plays in influencing design, and how both ultimately affect an organization's ability to achieve its goals. In fact, throughout his 20-year career Michael has assisted large corporations, small business and major universities alike develop effective design, marketing and communication solutions. As a result, Michael brings a unique combination of design expertise and business knowledge to every project. Tell me more about Michael Connors. Michael is an expert hands-on designer, with a portfolio clearly illustrating his ability to design attractive and compelling information assets of all types—including publications, Web sites, signage, catalogs and software user interfaces, among others. What makes him a little different than most is that Michael sees the design process as a problem-solving exercise that requires taking all project and organizational factors into consideration. Factors such as the target audience, the message and purpose, management's goals, budget, timeframe and asset re-use. And, most importantly, each piece must meet the interrelated needs of all stakeholders. Over the years, Michael has had his hand in many types of design projects, large and small. Working closely with organizations of all kinds and sizes, Michael has played an instrumental role in helping create and implement projects that fit the varying resources, budgets and schedules for each of his very different clients. What can Michael do for my organization? Michael has served as lead designer on projects for organizations as diverse as EMC Corporation and the Harvard University Forest. For over three years he designed Massachusetts Benchmarks, the quarterly journal of economics published by the President's Office at the University of Massachusetts. Michael recently completed several package designs for one of Proctor & Gamble's leading consumer product lines. His areas of expertise include:
Teaching Instructor, Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University. He teaches digital imaging and graphic design courses. Education Michael Connors has an MFA in Painting from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He holds a Graduate Certificate of Special Studies in Administration and Management from Harvard University. He has also studied at the California Institute of the Arts with Lou Danziger, and at the Boston Architectural Center. He is a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA).
